On Wednesday, July 9, St. François Girls’ College opened its gates to welcome the incoming Form 1 class. Approximately 100 students and their parents or guardians gathered on campus for Registration Day - an event that offered a glimpse into the community, culture and spirit of the College.

The day was thoughtfully coordinated by members of faculty and enriched by the enthusiastic involvement of our current students. Parents and students had the opportunity to hear from key members of the SFGC community, including the Principal, Mrs. Pasha Seecharan, as well as members of the St. François Girls’ College Alumnae Association: President, Aisha Sylvester, Trustees, Chrystal Shepherd, and Vanessa Forde, and teacher-alums Ms. Stacy-Ann Smith and Ms. Crystal Corentin.

Following the formal proceedings, incoming students were invited to complete the registration process and explore the College’s extracurricular offerings.

Various student-led booths and displays exposed the new cohort to St. François' cultural and sporting life. A wide variety of activities were represented, allowing our newest Little Sisters the opportunity to learn about sports teams, including netball, hockey and water polo; and of course performing arts programmes like the drama club.

The day also featured performances by the much-loved parang group, Las Cantadoras de San François, as well as the highly celebrated steelpan ensemble. Both groups were warmly received by the audience.

For many incoming students, the event was more than an introduction, it was an invitation to belong. The excitement was evident, with several girls signing up for clubs and teams on the spot, eager to begin their St. François journey.

As alumnae, it was heartening to see the legacy of excellence, service, and sisterhood continue. We thank the staff and students who made the day so engaging, and we look forward to seeing this new cohort of Little Sisters blossom into confident, capable young women.
